Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey is a well known and extremely skilled tournament player. He has finished very well in the World Series of Poker from 2002 to 2005; 23rd, 10th and 20th in that order. He has won a few bracelets including two Pot Limit Omaha in 2000 and 2005.
He has never won any World Poker Tour tournaments but has reached several final tables. He played his first European Poker Tour event September 2006, finishing second.
The best in the world, that’s what Phil Ivey often is referred to. It’s not hard to understand since in 2005 he won the $1,000,000 first prize in Monte Carlo Millions. Four days later he won the $600.000 Full Tilt Poker invitational tournament. He also plays the $4,000-$8,000 mixed cash games at Bellagio, also called “The Big Game”. Once he played against the Texas Billionaire Andy Beal winning $16,000,000.
He has his house in Las Vegas where he lives with his wife. He’s also a great fan of Huston Rockets and Los Angeles Lakers. You can often spot him at tournament wearing basketball jerseys. When he was eliminated in the 2003 World Series of Poker he had a Steve Francis jersey.
